Praha, September 11, 2013 – The brand new Radegast Index is finding its way into the official statistics of the hockey extraleague. It will measure the activity and dedication of players by combining two parameters. It will track blocked shots, hits or blocks of rivals players, and +/- points for the time spent on the ice during scored and received goals. The result will be the Radegast Index Value. The new statistical index number will track every player, however, defensive players will dominate. Radegast Comp., the official extraleague partner, plans to evaluate the Index and to reward active and dedicated players on a continual basis.

Statistics are very popular with hockey fans. So far, some parameters have been missing: tracking how much a player fights, fall into shots, or tries to avoid hard body-collisions. And that is the goal of the Radegast Index.

“Fans want to see players maximally engaged, fighting hard, and willing to sacrifice themselves for the team. Now, these parameters are measurable and fans will have a chance to compare them. It is possible that players who do not statistically dominate in the current Canadian Evaluation Method will be on the top of the Index because they work very hard for their teams,” said Karel Kraus, marketing manager of the Radegast brand.

Radegast Index will be a component of official extra league statistics, and it will be continuously publicised together with other tracked parameters at Radegast also plans to award the best players on a continuous basis as well as to reward the best overall player at the end of the extraleague season.
