Cervecería Hondureña Volunteering Demonstrates Environmental Awareness
5 December 2012
Enthusiastic volunteers from Cervecería Hondureña participated in the reforestation of an area of Vereda Tropical, in San Pedro Sula city, north of Honduras.
Vereda Tropical is part of a watershed located beside Cervecería Hondureña’s facilities, and its name refers to Tropical, the local brand from the extensive portfolio of the Company.
Predominant among the activities and ideas was environmental awareness, an attitude aligned with the principles of sustainability of Cervecería Hondureña. Many of the 104 volunteers were accompanied by their relatives.
The Volunteers were also inspired by the examples of the leaders of the organization, part of the Distribution, Sales, Production and Administration areas.
In efforts to boost sustainability, Cervecería Hondureña treated and reused water from its production process to aid the reforestation of the watershed; water that was treated in their landmark facility in the SABMiller region of Latin America.
Cervecería Hondureña Volunteering is a major boost for the socially responsible acts of the organization. Such actions cover various fields of social impact, among them: environment, health, education and solidarity activities.
Cervecería Hondureña Volunteering is promoted in the 14 places in Honduras where the company has operations, as well as a work program all year round.
