Voces Vitales Perú Holds "Mentoring Walk 2011" (Translation)
25 November 2011
Lima, 22nd November 2011 - The non-profit organisation VOCES VITALES PERU, which seeks to develop and establish groups that are based on the mentoring model - "mentored" meaning that which aims to identify and develop structures that strengthen the development of women in leadership - completed the "MENTORING WALK" in Lima, on Saturday 19th November in La Reserva Park (Circuito Mágico de las Aguas), from 11 am to 2 pm. This mentoring activity took place, simultaneously, in over thirty countries all over the world, in Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia.
Nelly Taboada, Director of Financial Planning at Backus, one of the companies sponsoring this initiative, took part, as a mentor, and said: "This kind of activity not only helps to share knowledge and experience with people; above all, it helps to get closer to them as well as understand them, as a way of valuing and realising their strengths, talent, and ideas".
Voces Vitales Perú sees the "Mentoring Walk" as an initiative that seeks to establish connections with and create a sense of responsibility towards the community, in future generations of women leaders.
"Previous programmes have shown that interacting with successful women, even for a brief period of time, can bring about change in the work-life balance and in motivating and inspiring women to take it to the next level," stated Gladys Zarak, Chief Executive of Voces Vitales Perú.
The activity is aimed at women between the ages of 20 and 35, with whom 30 female mentors will share their time and experience.
