Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, September 26th, 2012 - Today, after their training session, the team members of Unión Deportiva Las Palmas visited the facilities of the Tropical factory in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria at an event at which the players spoke with the 120 brewing company employees.

With this meeting, Unión Deportiva Las Palmas wanted to acknowledge the latest campaign from Tropical, official sponsor of the team, in which the brewing company paid tribute to the yellow supporters.

In line with the goal of the campaign, the players gathered to thank the company by visiting the facilities and meeting their employees.

Also, Tropical wanted to highlight the company’s appreciation of the values of Gran Canarias’ society through the football team’s appearance on the Island. In order to do so it has supported the involvement of all its employees on this initiative, in line with the values supported by the company.

During the meeting, each of the employees received one bottle which displays the team’s emblem, which was created for this occasion by Tropical in tribute to the supporters, as well as an original scarf that shows the colours of the football team merging with the Tropical logo.

This initiative is part of the campaign recently carried out by Tropical to pay tribute to the supporters of Unión Deportiva Las Palmas. The supporters’ club from La Bañeza, León, were the honourees at this occasion. Despite their distance from Gran Canarias, they are an example of unconditional support of the club amarillo (yellow club), as it’s the second most important supporters’ club of the team, with 206 members.

The campaign, with a clear emotional component, reiterates the importance of the espíritu amarillo (yellow spirit) of an unconditional fan base that continues to give its support to the club at all times and to whom Tropical wanted to pay tribute.

Amongst the main highlights of this campaign are the 270,000 limited edition bottles that include the team’s emblem and a representation of the supporters, the making of a TV spot where the main characters are the supporters from La Bañeza and the installation of a stand and a big screen on the premises of the supporters’ club from León so the supporters of UD Las Palmas can watch their club’s matches live during the present season.
