For the Fifth Year in a Row, Backus Is Recognised by the BVL because of its Good Practices of Corporate Governance

Lima, July 12, 2013 – Union of Peruvian Breweries and Johnston was recognised by the Lima Stock Exchange (BVL) for the fifth year in a row for contributing with excellence to the quality management of Good Practices of Corporate Governance in the country.

This award was given after a rigorous evaluation process carried out by the auditing firm Pacific Credit Rating (PCR), which validates full compliance with the Principles of Good Corporate Governance.

Dr. Francisco Mujica, vice chairman of the board and president of Backus’ Good Corporate Governance Committee, said, “This recognition is very important as it confirms the commitment and transparency Backus gives to its stakeholders, as well as generating value, strength and efficiency in the company, qualities that allow us to be an excellent alternative for local and international investors.”

It is worth mentioning that the Good Corporate Governance Index is the system by which companies are managed and controlled for the compliance of fundamental and important principles such as transparency, confidence, equity, social responsibility, fluidity and integrity of information for investors and other interest groups.
