The brand from Compañía Cervecera sponsors La Palma’s most international carnival for the second consecutive year
- La Palma’s carnival sponsorship will be maintained next year
- With this initiative, Compañía Cervecera consolidates its commitment to the development of cultural and recreational activities on Isla Bonita
Santa Cruz de La Palma, February 1st, 2013 - Compañía Cervecera de Canarias, through its Dorada brand, reinforces its presence at the Santa Cruz de La Palma Carnival with a limited edition of 83,022 aluminium bottles carrying designs related to the Indianos carnival, plus the arrangement of various recreational activities such as the street presentation of a Cuban conga performed by local musicians.
This year’s campaign was introduced today at Santa Cruz de La Palma City Hall in a ceremony attended by Mayor Sergio Matos, Festival councilwoman Marta Poggio, and the man responsible for sponsorships at Compañía Cervecera, Elías Rosales. It is the second consecutive year that Dorada acts as official sponsor of the carnival in the capital of La Palma, and an agreement to continue the collaboration for next year has been confirmed.
As in 2012, Dorada has issued a limited edition of aluminium bottles inspired by the Carnival, in three different models with motifs from the festivities. One of these motifs is actually based on the Indianos celebration and has gathered key aspects from the festival, such as La Negra Tomasa and talc.
Compañía Cervecera has planned to distribute more than 17,000 bottles in bars, restaurants and supermarkets in La Palma, most of them with the “Indianos” model. However, on the island, there will also be two more carnival models, “Costume” and “Party,” that revolve around the preparation for the Carnival, entertainment and street dancing, respectively. Besides those bottles, there will be approximately 20,000 cans with festival motifs.
Dorada’s participation in the San Cruz de La Palma Carnival will also materialise in a Cuban conga, which during Indianos Day, next February 11th, will be added to Negra Tomasa’s homecoming and will entertain the streets of La Palma’s capital throughout the day.
This Cuban conga will accompany Negra Tomasa with the sounds of Caribbean rhythms created by wind and percussion instruments, and will contribute to bringing the public back to the time of the Palma natives’ migration to Cuba.
With this initiative, Dorada consolidates its involvement in the Santa Cruz de La Palma Carnival, which shows its commitment to the development of cultural and leisure activities on the island; a commitment in line with the sponsorship assumed the previous year, which will continue into the next period.
In this way, the brand continues to promote knowledge about a festival with significant roots in Isla Bonita, one that has become an attraction point for many visitors every year.
