Performance highlights 2016

SABMiller is a signatory to the Beer, Wine and Spirits Producers’ Commitments. Alongside 12 other leading beer, wines and spirits companies we’ve signed up to a five-year global action plan to help reduce the harmful consumption of alcohol.

The commitments fall under the following five action areas:

  • reducing underage drinking;

  • strengthening and expanding marketing codes of practice;

  • providing consumer information and responsible product innovation;

  • reducing drinking and driving; and

  • enlisting the support of retailers to reduce harmful drinking.

Employee training

As at 31 March 2016, 70% of employees worldwide had received alcohol responsibility training within the past three years, and the marketing agencies we use had joined training on responsible marketing in 91% of local businesses.
