Declaration on the Millennium Development Goals
SABMiller joined a number of global corporations in signing the Declaration on the Millennium Development Goals on 31 July 2007.
The Declaration confirms SABMiller’s commitment to the United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals and recognises the need to create a global partnership for development to achieve the Goals.

New Report: 'HIV and Aids - Sharing the lessons'
HIV and Aids - Sharing the lessons is the report from the SABMiller Stakeholder Conversation which was held in Washington on 10 March 2008.
The report summarises the main points of the discussion and sets out what SABMiller intends to do next in its ongoing efforts to address HIV and Aids in its workplaces and communities.

Launch of the 10th annual Sustainable Development Report
The Sustainable Development Report for 2007 provides an update on the sustainable development framework which was embedded into our global operations last year. There is news on each of the 10 priorities and how we performed against our commitments. The Report lists targets and focus areas for this year in addition to providing information on the new system which measures our operations on their progress on each of the priorities. It also includes information on our people and how we satisfy consumers through our quality products.

New report: ‘Water – the challenges for the future’
In this new report we discuss the questions posed by the issues of water quality and availability around the world. We acknowledge that it’s not just the water we use in our breweries that is key: we must also know more about our wider footprint within our value chain. We intend to engage further with our suppliers, NGOs and the environmental community to debate the complexities of water consumption.

New briefing paper: ‘Living and working with HIV/Aids’ – our perspective
HIV/Aids impacts our business and the communities in which we operate, especially in countries within Africa, but also in other countries such as Colombia, India and Honduras. This briefing paper looks at the overall impacts of this disease as well as explaining our strategy of managing existing infections and reducing and preventing new infections.

Committing to the UN Global Compact
In January 2007 we signed the UN Global Compact and committed to report against its 10 principles. There is significant overlap between our 10 sustainable development priorities and the UN Global Compact principles, demonstrating that our approach aligns with best practice worldwide.
