SABMiller plc and Molson Coors Brewing Company announced on 5 June 2008 that they have received approval from the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice to proceed with the combination of their U.S. and Puerto Rico operations to form a new company called MillerCoors.
An audiocast with Pete Coors, Vice-Chairman of Molson Coors, Leo Kiely, Chief Executive Officer of Molson Coors, and Tom Long, Chief Executive Officer of Miller was held on Monday 9 June to discuss MillerCoors executive leadership appointments and provide an update on the MillerCoors transaction.
