Lima, December 06th, 2012 - Backus, in the ninth edition of Premio Perú 2021, was awarded with three prizes, two for its programme “Súmate, sólo +18” and one for “Ecoparque vive responsable.” These prizes are given in order to promote socially responsible behaviour among companies and to publicly recognise the companies that stand out for their commitment to the development of Peru.

First, Backus’ campaign “Súmate, sólo +18,” which is intended to combat the sale and consumption of alcohol among underage people, was awarded with two prizes. The first prize was in the category Multi-Stakeholders and it recognises the similar work of its stakeholders. The second one was in the Clients category, which rewards socially responsible programmes for people who purchase its products and services.

Next, the “Ecoparque Vive Responsable” programme, which is intended to promote a quality environment in the area through the creation of an environmental balance, the recuperation of the Amazonia forest and the conservation of endangered flora and fauna, was awarded within the Environment category. This category recognises the projects that focus on enhancing the environment where the company operates.

In this regard, Felipe Cantuarias, Vice President of Planning and Corporate Affairs from Backus pointed out, “These awards reaffirm Backus’ social commitment with the country. It’s an honour to be recognised for the effort that day by day everyone involved makes: company, allies and community, in order to promote social inclusion and contribute to the progress of the country.”
