SABMiller announces appointment of Corporate Affairs Director

London and Johannesburg, 11 February 2003. SABMiller plc (SABMiller) today announced the appointment of Sue Clark as Director of Corporate Affairs. Ms. Clark will report directly to SABMiller's CEO Graham Mackay and becomes a member of the company's Executive Committee. Her appointment will be effective from 10 February 2003.

"Over the last year the group has grown in terms of size and global reach", said Graham Mackay, CEO of SABMiller. "With Sue's appointment we will strengthen our range of corporate activity through the establishment of a co-ordinated Corporate Affairs function across all our operations, covering media, investor relations, political affairs, corporate affairs, corporate social responsibility and internal communications. Sue's broad experience in wide ranging corporate affairs will be invaluable to us as the business grows and develops."

Ms. Clark joins SABMiller from the Railtrack Group plc where she was Corporate Affairs Director and previously Corporate Affairs Director for Scottish Power plc.

Biographical details:

Sue Clark joined SABMiller plc as Director of Corporate Affairs on 10 February 2003.

Prior to this she was Corporate Affairs Director at Railtrack (2000-2002) where she managed the Company's communications through a period of major operational, management and financial crisis, and latterly she was part of the small executive team that achieved a financial settlement for Railtrack's shareholders.

Previously Ms. Clark was Director of Corporate Affairs at ScottishPower (1995-2000). As a member of the senior management team Sue led all aspects of the communications for the successful acquisition of US utility PacifiCorp and UK utilities Manweb and Southern Water. During Ms. Clark's time at ScottishPower the perception of the Company was transformed from a UK electricity Company into a leading international utility group.

Ms. Clark gained an MBA from Herriot Watt University in 1996; she has a BSc Honours degree from Manchester University and a Securities Industry Diploma. Sue is a Non Executive Director of Lloyds TSB Scotland.

Sue is married and has 2 daughters.
