21 March 2013
Cervecería Hondureña reaffirmed its support of the prevention of traffic accidents during this season by giving more than a million lempiras to the National Commission for Prevention of Accidents, CONAPRA, for the operation of Safe Summer 2013. The amount includes the broadcasting of prevention messages in the media and logistical materials to support the operation on the roads.
The donation to the authorities of the National Department of Traffic includes logistical material such as a media campaign; the donation of 1000 mouthpieces for breathalyser tests; the activation of Mobile Units of Diagnosis in three cities: Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula and La Ceiba; 100 banners with preventive messages; 18,000 flyers; equipment for the Red Cross and soft drinks and water.
During the donation, the renewal of the agreement was ratified, for the third year in a row, of the road-safety programme Drive Your Life, subscribed to by Cervecería Hondureña, with the National Police through the National Department of Traffic and INFOP. Such programmes have been implemented in different cities of the country with the important participation of the population, which also benefited from educational sessions and free vehicle inspections. Since the beginning of the programme, more than 2000 cars have been checked in different cities of the country and 8000 people have received educational sessions about road safety.
The goal of the road-safety programme Drive your Life is to raise awareness of the subject, to promote the responsible consumption of alcohol and to give a community service to the people, with the primary objective of preventing traffic accidents.
Cervecería Hondureña ratifies its interest by supporting the authorities in guiding the people so the summer season passes without accidents and by contributing to the prevention of traffic accidents.
