Dorada supports the humour and the solidarity of the contest ‘The Laughing Song’ with a €1000 prize (Translation)

Santa Cruz de Tenerife, February 23rd, 2012.- Dorada, Compañía Cervecera de Canarias' brand will sponsor again this year the prize of the contest The Laughing Song, an event that combines humour and solidarity. The event will take place tomorrow, Friday, at 21:00, in the Guimerá Theater of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Dorada wanted to participate again in the organisation of the event with the donation, for the second time in a row, of €1000 for the Dorada Prize of the contest directed and organised by Manón Marichal, which has became one of the most visited events of the Chicharrero Carnival.

Humour and laughter will be predominant in a show with the participation of the following groups: Ni norte, ni sur, ni este, Los niños del pijama a rayas, La pandorga está llena de pejes verdes y de algún tamboril, La familia Monster, Los lejías, No tengo el Chichi pa farolillos, and Los sabanreños. These groups will be competing for the laughter of the audience.

Beyond its first goal, The Laughing Song wants to help the most disadvantaged groups. Since its beginning in 2006, the proceeds have been donated to La Milagrosa soup kitchen in La Noria street, with the goal of helping to the development of the social work carried out in such a place. Also, last year, the quantity of the Prize Dorada was added to the proceeds and donated on behalf of the winner group.

With this initiative, Dorada completes its support for the collaboration with the main activities of the Chicharrero Carnival. The brand has sponsored, for the second year in a row, the first prizes of interpretation and presentation in the street bands, krewes and musical groups of the Chicharrero Carnival.

Also, it has defrayed the expenses of the musical shows organised in Príncipe Square, and it has launched a limited edition of 270,000 aluminum bottles with three designs inspired by the most international celebration from Canarias and a fourth design dedicated to Los Indianos de La Palma
To this it has to be added 1,410,000 Dorada cans with a design inspired by the celebration.
