Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, February 2nd, 2012.- Compañía Cervecera de Canarias, through its brand Tropical, has signed this morning an agreement with Las Palmas de Gran Canaria city hall. With this agreement, the brewing company becomes the official sponsor of the capital city's carnival.
To the signing of the one year-long agreement attended the Education, Culture and Sports city councillor, María Isabel García Bolta, and Tropical director, Eduardo Martell.
This initiative reinforces the sponsorship Tropical has being carrying out for the most popular celebrations and activities of the capital city. Also, it consolidates the broad collaboration with the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, made evident on various occasions with the collaboration of Tropical in the main cultural events of the city, as in the case of the Womad festival or the celebration activities developed within the frame of the founding of the city.
As well as the collaboration with the celebration events on the occasion of the Gran Canaria capital city's Carnival, the company includes actions addressed to the consumers that consist of a campaign through social networks with the slogan "The Supertropicals on a mission. This Carnival tastes like Tropical," which will encourage the citizens to enjoy the celebrations. For this, they will be helped by a group of local superheroes that will transmit to the public the desire of enjoying a Tropical carnival through original and funny videos.
Within the agreement signed this morning, Tropical wants to develop other actions in key festivities and events that take place in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria throughout the year.
