History
- 1912
The Laurentina Brewery starts out as The Victoria Ice and Soft Drink Plant.
- 1932
The iconic Laurentina brand is launched in Maputo.
- 1965
The Mac Mahon Brewery is built. This is where the name of Mozambique’s most popular mainstream brand – 2M – comes from.
- 1966
A brewery is established in Biera.
- 1995
SAB Ltd acquires the Maputo and Beira breweries, which become known as Cervejas de Moçambique (CDM)
- 2001
CDM acquires the Laurentina brand and restructures its combined brewing assets to operate from one site.
- 2002
CDM becomes the first company to list on the Maputo stock exchange, with a free float of some 25%.
- 2010
CDM builds and commissions a new brewery in Nampula.
Sustainable development
Clean water for the community in Mozambique
In partnership with the Mozambique Foundation for Community Development, Cervejas de Moçambique has funded two projects in Maputo with the aim of providing clean water for over 13,000 people.
