SABMiller entered the high-growth Vietnamese beer market in 2006 through a joint venture with Vinamilk, subsequently purchasing 100% of the joint venture in March 2009. A greenfield brewery was built in 2007, with the launch of Zorok beer later that year. From 2011 the Czech beer, Gambrinus was introduced as a premium brand, and Peroni Nastro Azzurro as a super-premium brand in support of our strategy to focus on higher margin brands, channels and geographies.
SABMiller Vietnam Joint Venture Company Limited is formed between SABMiller Asia B.V and Vinamilk.
Zorok beer is launched.
SABMiller Asia B.V acquires 100% of SABMiller Vietnam Joint Venture Company Limited and changes its name to SABMiller Vietnam Company Limited.
Gambrinus was introduced as a premium brand.
