We are the second largest brewer in India. We have an operation in Vietnam and we export to various markets including South Korea and Singapore.

SAB forms a joint venture in China with China Resources Enterprise Ltd. The operation is called China Resources Snow Breweries (CR Snow).


SAB moves into India with the acquisition of Narang breweries.


SABMiller enters a joint venture with Shaw Wallace & Company Ltd, becoming one of India’s leading brewers.

SABMiller makes a strategic investment in the Harbin Brewery Group and acquires a 29.6 per cent stake in the company.


China Resources Breweries Limited, an associate of SABMiller, acquires two Chinese breweries to strengthen its foothold in Anhui province.

SABMiller accepts an offer of HK$5.58 from Anheuser-Busch for shares in Harbin Brewery.


Through its local subsidiary, Mysore Breweries, SABMiller announces the acquisition of Shaw Wallace & Company's share of its joint venture in India and becomes the country's second largest brewer.

CR Snow Breweries, SABMiller's joint venture operation in China, acquires Fuyang City Snowland Brewery.


CR Snow becomes the largest brewer in China by sales volume and by brewing capacity.

SABMiller enters a joint venture agreement with Vinamilk to establish a greenfield brewery in southern Vietnam.


CR Snow agrees to acquire four breweries in the country for a total investment cost of US$79m.


CR Snow SABMiller's joint venture in China continues to expand with the acquisition of furtherbreweries in Anhui, Liaoning and Zhejiang provinces and its first in Shandong province.

SABMiller acquires the residual interest in its Vietnamese joint venture.


Foster's Group was acquired by SABMiller plc on 16 December 2011 providing exposure to Australia's strong economic growth prospects, a leading position in the stable and profitable Australian beer industry, and the opportunity to apply SABMiller's capabilities and scale to improve Foster's financial and operating performance.


Pacific Beverages becomes part of Foster's, with the remaining share in the company being acquired from Coca-Cola Amatil.

By end of 2012 CR Snow had more than 80 breweries with over 100m hl of sales volume and 22% market share.


CR Snow has entered an agreement with Kingway Brewery Holdings Limited to acquire its brewery business comprising seven breweries, four in fast growing and affluent, Guangdong province.

Taking testing to truckers in India

SABMiller constantly monitors the prevalence of HIV/Aids in each of the countries in which it operates. In India, though the national prevalence remains below 1%, we know that some groups are more vulnerable than others due to the nature of their work. The stigma surrounding HIV/Aids is also a problem: there are often barriers to talking about sexual behaviour (especially with colleagues and in front of fellow workers) and, in some cases, there is a fear of testing.
