Bennie Basson joined the SABMiller group in 1980. His experience spans operations across South Africa and Tanzania including roles at SAB Ltd's malting plant in Caledon, South Africa; General Manager of the Moshi Malting Plant in Tanzania; Plant Manager at TBL's Mwanza Brewery; Brewing Consultant at SAB Ltd. He has been in his current position as Barley Manager at TBL since 2009.

Bennie has a MSC in Biochemistry from the University of Port Elizabeth, a PhD in Agriculture from the University of Stellenbosch and a Post Graduate Diploma in Malting and Brewing Science from Heriot-Watt.
