Christine joined the corporate affairs department of SABMiller plc in January 2005. She has a background in public affairs, corporate communications and stakeholder management which she has gained in South Africa and the UK.

Christine began her career at SABMiller with responsibility for managing the company's relationships with the UK government, NGOs, the international development community, academic institutions and international business organisations. In her current position, she is responsible for SABMiller's government and political relations in the UK, with particular emphasis on alcohol policy and public health related issues.

During her time with SABMiller Christine has travelled to Africa, the EU, India, Latin America and the US where she has represented the company on senior public platforms linked to corporate social responsibility and business's role in poverty alleviation.

In 2011, Christine was appointed a Director of the Board of the Westminster Forum, a non-partisan organisation whose stated aim is to 'keep business and Westminster talking'.

Christine has a Masters' Degree in International Relations from Rhodes University, South Africa. Her experience includes a secondment to the Independent Electoral Commission in Johannesburg during South Africa's historic 1994 elections, three years as Press and Information Advisor to the Head of the European Commission's Delegation in Pretoria, and nine years as a public affairs consultant based in Johannesburg and London advising clients requiring specialist knowledge and advice on African issues.
