Lima, June 12th, 2009. Cerveza Cusqueña, main sponsor of Cusco's Jubilee Festivities, will sponsor an incredible light and sound show for the 15th consecutive year, this June 24th in the Plaza de Armas, where 50,000 people are expected to attend. For the occasion, Cerveza Cusqueña will sponsor part of the musical show hosted by Marisol Mugesa and Luis Zanabria, which features Pepe Alva, Circo Etno Band and Los Caribeños de Guadalupe. The brewing company is also sponsoring the fireworks that will be launched from the top of the hills that surround the Imperial City, and will light up the night sky of Cusco.
"Cerveza Cusqueña has been supporting the festivities of Cusco for more than 20 years, through the Inter-Institutional Cooperation Agreement signed between Backus and Empresa Municipal de Festejos del Cusco (EMUFEC). It's an honour to be associated with the success of Cusco's month of religious celebration, which is one of the most anticipated traditional festivals, full of magic and colour, where the locals and national and international tourists arrive to the Imperial City to participate in the variety of activities, especially the dramatization of Inti Raymi," said Javier Neyra Gorriti, manager of the Cusqueña brand.
This year, Cerveza Cusqueña will also support the EMUFEC with a high quality sound system for the incredible dramatization of Inti Raymi, which takes place on the amazing esplanade of Sacsayhuaman. Cusuqeña also financed the production of a thousand flyers which were distributed around the city to promote the event.
In addition to sponsoring the events, Cerveza Cusqueña also provided logistical assistance and leather aprons to 300 vendors of the traditional dish Chirihuchu, which was tasted as the body of Christ in the Plaza San Francisco. The company is also contemplating sponsorship of other activities, like a special dramatization of Cruz Velacuy which is planned for the months of August and September.
The magic and dedication with which the imperial city of Cusco was built is reflected in every step of the Cusqueña brewing process. The beer is made with many fine details and the best ingredients, including 100% pure barley and Saaz hops, the finest in the world. With such thorough attention to detail, Cusqueña is the most recognized Peruvian beer on the national and international levels.
