Lima, October 21, 2009 - On Wednesday, October 14th, the Good Practices of Corporate Governance program presented: Success Cases (organized by the Universidad del Pacífico) and the recent publication Peruvian Corporate Governance: Academic Reflection of its Application (from the university's Editorial).
Throughout this book, the authors seek to share the top five Peruvian companies with the most relevant and successful Good Practices of Corporate Governance. Backus Brewery is one of these companies. In order to accomplish the above, the authors compiled a series of reports on good practices of corporate governance applied in Peru. The reports were developed by Elsa del Castillo, Pedro Franco, Rosa María Fuchs, Gina Pipoli and Maria Matilde Schwalb, who are teachers at Universidad del Pacífico.
This publication is the first effort towards systematizing and contributing to the dissemination of transparent practices and reliable management in Peruvian companies. The book highlights policies carried out in the country and the exemplary nature of the model developed by companies like: Backus, Graña and Montero, Incasur, Profuturo AFP and the Peruvian Energy Network.
