Gambrinus cheer for “Pilsner” ice-hockey! (Translation)

15 September 2009

Plzen, 10 September 2009 - Ice-hockey club HC PLZEN Ltd. has acquired new support for its ranks. The agreement that has just been signed between the club and Gambrinus makes the latter the main partner and the official beer brand of the Plzen hockey club in the season of 2009/2010. The cooperation is not only an important event for the ice-hockey scene and its fans in Plzen, but in the same measure for Gambrinus beer brand, whose name will be brought in connection with quality hockey.

"Gambrinus is seen as traditional beer brand in Plzen, and we are glad to support another tradition in the region - an ice-hockey team. We believe that our contribution not only keeps the Plzen ice-hockey at the level it deserves but also brings novelty and animation to the fan community, whose support is indispensable," says Jan Hlavácek, Gambrinus' master brewer who signed the agreement.

Beside the classical advertisement support, the new cooperation should include many fan-aimed events and activities. Gambrinus beer will be sold at all booths of the ice-hockey Arena in Plzen. During the period breaks Gambrinus amusement and interactive contests will be held, such as goal shooting from the blue line. Also planned are contests for free tickets or a major competition to win participation in the training session with the HC Plzen team members. Fans will also be able to meet some of the players at official Gambrinus events. Last but not least, and a pleasant display for not only male eyes, will be the Gambrinus cheerleader team. Gambrinus will also act as the official main partner at various other sportive, societal and supporting events of Plzen ice-hockey.
