Chiclayo, June 22, 2009.- Within the framework of its program Progresando Juntos (Progressing Together), Backus carried out on June 23rd the certificate presentation and closing of the Entrepreneurial Management Strengthening Workshop, given in Túcume between October and December 2008 to a group of 33 artisans of the area.
During their participation in the course, the artisans group from Túcume was trained in topics related to Craftwork Services Quality, Diagnosis of Entrepreneurial Capacities, Entrepreneurial Competence Training and Technical Assistance. In this occasion, the workshop was given by Strategia SAC, a consulting group that successfully developed the artisans training in the Moche countryside some months ago.
In the closing ceremony participated authorities of Patronato del Valle de las Pirámides de Túcume (Foundation of the Pyramids Valley of Túcume), Backus representatives, among others. During the event, Mrs. Magdalena Morales Valentín, Backus' Sustainable Development Director, pointed out: "We are convinced that if we develop the community we will achieve the sustainability of our patrimonies, we will boost the tourism and therefore the local economy."
It is worth noting that as part of the capacities strengthening program, in February of this year, the artisans of Túcume visited Huaca de la Luna in Trujillo, to exchange experiences and knowledge with their peers in this city. For this reason, a group of artisans from Moche arrived in Túcume to participate in the ceremony, visit the museum premises and appreciate the product exposition that the artisans of Túcume offered to the tourists in this place.
