The Club Colombia Masters of Golf in Bogotá reaches its third edition

Bogotá, March 13 2009. Club Colombia, leading premium brand in the market, announces the start of the third edition Club Colombia Masters of Golf, a tourney that has been declared by the national government as a national interest event and which is a part of the European Challenge Tour, a privilege held only by Argentina and Colombia in Latin America.

The third edition of the Club Colombia Masters of Golf, which will be played in the Los Fundadores course of the Bogota Country Club between the 19th and 22nd of March, will have 160 participating players, among which 65 are European, around 14 belong to the Nation Wide, and the first 10 Colombians of the national ranking. Among this year's participants are renowned international figures such as Italian Edoardo Molinari, winner of the 2007 Club Colombia Masters, Danish Mark Haastrup, number one of the European Tour, Scotsman Andrew McArthur and Argentinians Rafael Gómez, César Monasterio, Juan Abatte and Pablo del Grosso.

The Club Colombia Masters, the country's most important golf tournament, has a prize bag worth 220 thousand dollars, and important advance compared to last year's bag, which was of 180 thousand dollars. The winner will take 36 thousand dollars.

Due to the characteristics of the course - which according to experts are similar to those of fast courses such as those from the TPC Sawgrass, in Jacksonville and Casa de Campo, in Dominican Republic - and the acknowledgement of the European Challenge Tour - who rated the Club Colombia Masters as the best event of 2007 - this tournament has become a mandatory step for professional golfers and a reference point for international media, among them the Golf Channel, which will cover the entire event and transmit it to over 330 million homes worldwide.
