12 March 2009
Bogota, March 11th, 2009. Bavaria, S. A., leading beverages company in Colombia, informs that in response to a manifest request made by the Mayor's office of Villavicencio, the company will supply the Aqueduct and Sewage company of Villavicencio - EAAV for its Spanish acronym -, four tankers with their drivers for 5 days, to help supply drinking water to the inhabitants of Villavicencio, hit by the terrorist attack of this past weekend.
Likewise, Bavaria will provide the EAAV with the damn located in the Agua Brisa production plant in Villavicencio, so the tankers, under the instructions of the authorities in charge of dealing with the emergency, can replenish the water and help the citizens. Bavaria has allocated 4.800 hectolitres of water from this reservoir to help alleviate the crisis. The donation of this water has the approval from Coca-Cola FEMSA, the new owner of the Brisa brand.
The tankers left Bogotá this morning. To take advantage of the trip, the vehicles left loaded with water from the Aqueduct and Sewage Company of Bogotá - EAAB (for its Spanish Acronym) -; once in Villavicencio, they will be under the orders of the same company for the local supply.
In emergency situations water becomes one of the population's priorities. Bavaria is certain that with this it will contribute to the wellbeing of afflicted families, as an immediate help to the victims. A sample of this is the presence of Bavaria in the rainy season emergency in Tumaco last February, with which we reiterate, once more, our commitment with needy communities.
