With a growth superior to the industry of soft drinks - sales of Guaraná grow 49%

Lima, November 06, 2008.- Since its re-launch, at the end of last year's December, the brand Guaraná  Backus has been able to achieve an important growth in their sales. The brand accumulated growth between January and October of 2008, compared to the same period of last year, rises to a 49%; number considerably higher to the growth reached by the soft drinks industry.

These results are mainly caused by the preference shown by the customers of this brand, sustained by the modernization of its image (packing, labels, and bottles) and the innovation reached by work done on the launch of Guaraná Light, one extension of the line that has been well received within several groups of customers.

Mario Gomí, Director of Soft Drinks of Backus, commented: "We are very happy with the performance of Guaraná at national level and we confirm our objective to reach in medium term the third place in the market of Lima." Some adjustments to the positioning of the brand and improvements in the distribution system in Lima and provinces have contributed to excellent results, mentioned Gomí.

Emphasizing the different, unique and fresh character of Guaraná Backus, the brand has as a proposal "Stay Fresh, be Yourself", and in the same line, the brand is currently participating of a Co-Branding promotion with Claro, where they are giving away hundred of thousand of prices of 5 soles in phone calls between Claro users and discounts on Motorola devices.

The marked lids of Guaraná of 500 Ml let you participate in the promotion by sending the alphanumeric code printed in them, through text message to 4848. The promotion is valid until the first week of December and promises to impact the objective public.
