Johann Nel appointed Human Resources Director of SAB plc

Johann Nel, 45, Human Resources Director for SAB Ltd in South Africa, has been appointed to the newly created role of Human Resources Director for SAB plc. Mr Nel, who will be based in SAB's head office at Stanhope Gate, London, will also join the Executive Committee.
Graham Mackay, Chief Executive said: "SAB's strategy and ongoing success remains reliant on our ability to develop and transfer skills throughout the group and this in turn places demands on our ability to recruit, develop and deploy the best talent. Johann brings with him leading expertise in these fields and he will play a vital role in the continuing global development of the group."
Mr Nel joined SAB Ltd as Human Resources Director in 1997. Prior to joining SAB, he was Managing Director of ITISA, a consulting company which specialised in the fields of organisational change, strategy and World Class manufacturing and service processes. He interacted with many national and multi-national organisations in this role including SAB.
Mr Nel said: "I am very much looking forward to this new challenge. Brewing is a mature industry in which the world's top companies are using similar technology, equipment, and even suppliers. Mr Nel will take up the position from 1 April 2002.
