Santa Cruz de Tenerife, October 21st, 2013 - Compañía Cervecera de Canarias will increase its investments 24% for this year, reaching €6.5 million, compared to €5.2 million last year.

This data shows the company’s commitment to consolidating and strengthening its activity for the future, despite the current economical environment where it is necessary to reinforce the economical activity in the Islands.

Also, this increase in the investment aims to consolidate the action strategy that Compañía Cervecera has been developing, allowing it to add an average of €6.1 million annually for the last ten years.

The investment effort of the company translates to the commitment of the modernisation of its two factories, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and at the same time advocates to increase and ensure the product quality.

One of the goals is to achieve the highest level of security in its facilities, as well as the highest level of efficiency in the usage of natural resources, which leads to a decrease in the environmental impact.

In this sense, some of the main actions focus on the introduction of technical improvements within the packaging process in its two company factories. To this, actions focused on controlling the efficiency of the boiling equipment, as well as investments in terms of industrial safety, have been incorporated.

True to its commitment to the environment, the company will use nearly one million Euros in the purchase of returnable packaging, the most respectful to the environment, as it’s built once and can be used many times with consequent savings in raw materials and energy.

To this, investments carried out by Compañía Cervecera to encourage and support the market, especially the hospitality market, which exceeded two million Euros, have been added.

In this sense, the company has been working to increase hospitality and leisure activities, seriously damaged as a consequence of the effects of the current economical situation with the decline of consumption. A large amount is destined for the acquisition of equipment for the serving, exhibition and conservation of beer at selling points in the Islands.

With the support to the hospitality sector, Compañía Cervecera has been carrying out actions in collaboration with city halls, city councils and different associations fundamental in the economical development and the creation of jobs in the Islands.

Examples are the culinary routes in Tenerife, Gran Canaria, La Palma y Fuerteventura in which Compañía Cervecera has helped with financial and logistical support.
