Santa Cruz de Tenerife, May 29th, 2012 - Compañía Cervecera de Canarias has presented the sports association for people with disabilities Ademi with a €7.050 check corresponding to the €10 donation for each one of the 705 people that finished the XXI Half Marathon "Santa Cruz de Tenerife" on November 6th, which took place in the capital of Tenerife and was sponsored by the brewing company.

Present at the ceremony were the CEO of Compañía Cervecera, Mark Tindall, and the president of the Club Ademi Tenerife, Carlos Correa.

This is the second year in a row Compañía Cervecera has carried out this initiative; it seeks to promote the development of the "Sports for all" project of Ademi Tenerife and wants to administer the adapted sport in the south of the island, from Arico to Santiago del Teide.

The initiative seeks that people with disabilities start in sports, as well as promoting social integration. The donation of Compañía Cervecera will allow these kinds of activities to be carried out in the Centro de Diversidad Funcional del Mojón, administered by Arona city hall, as well as the Complejo Deportivo de las Torres and the swimming pool of Tenerife Top Training thanks to an agreement signed by the Adeje city hall for the promotion of the adapted sport.

Precisely with the contribution given by Compañía Cervecera after the 2010 Half Marathon, the hiring of the instructors, as well as the purchasing of sports equipment adapted and the repairing of wheelchairs to play basketball was paid for.

With this sum of money, the Club Ademi Tenerife is planning to keep doing these activities, as well as intensifying the efforts of spreading those activities that the club carries out in the south of the island.

The development of this initiative is within the actions of social investment the company carries out beside its business activity and with which it wants to consolidate and promote its commitment of improving the wellbeing of the community in which it operates.

In this case, it means to support the trajectory of Ademi Tenerife, an association that has achieved important goals in the last months, among them the promotion of its wheelchair basketball team to the Honorary Division B, as well as the award to the best sports team handed in recently by the Asociación de la Prensa Deportiva de Tenerife.
