PJSC Miller Brands Ukraine receives Grand Prix, gold and silver for their beer quality (Translation)
6 September 2011
September 2, 2011 saw the results of the XIV International Awards in beer, alcohol-free and low alcoholic beverages and mineral and drinking waters awarded. On the jury's decision, Miller Brands Ukraine were awarded the Grand Prix, three gold medals and one silver medal.
The competition has been traditionally organized by Ukrpivo trade company incorporating the Ukrainian manufacturers of alcohol-free beverages, beer and malt.
This year the panel of judges consisted of independent experts from Ukraine, Russia, Byelorussia and the Czech Republic. The sample evaluation was done by the "blind" tasting method where the experts were unaware of the beer brand they were tasting. They judged the beverages' organoleptic qualities - appearance, colour, taste and consistency.
Miller Brands Ukraine submitted five samples of their products for competition - beers Zolotaya Bochka Draft, Zolotaya Bochka Light, Zolotaya Bochka Classic, Amstedam Mariner and Zhygulivske.
The awards were distributed as follows: Zolotaya Bochka Light won the Grand Prix, the highest award of the competition. Zolotaya Bochka Classic, Amsterdam Mariner and Zhygulivske brands won the gold medals, and Zolotaya Bochka Draft won the silver medal.
"Making beer at the Miller Brands Ukraine brewery is a complicated, highly technological process involving strict observance of the recipe, a multi-level quality control at all stages of production and an exact following of their parent company SABMiller's high standards. Another secret of Miller Brands Ukraine excellent beer quality lies in its 100 per cent natural raw materials - ideally, purified water, high quality Ukrainian malt, best German and Czech hops", said Miller Brands Ukraine Technical Director Vasily Basmanov. "We are happy that the jury's opinion on the taste of our beer agrees with that of the Ukrainian consumers".
This year's awards have added to Miller Brands Ukraine already large collection from previous years' competitions, including six Grand Prix and 13 gold medals.
