Backus gives US $70,000 to the players that participated in the America Cup (Translation)

Honouring the agreement with the Players of the National Football Team

Lima, July 27th, 2011 - During the press conference presenting the Cristal-Beer- sponsored Support Campaign for the National Football Team, President of Unión de Cervecerías Peruanas Backus and Johnston S.A.A., Robert Priday Woodworth, pledged his company's support to the team. Today, the players that participated in the America Cup received US $70,000.

Carlos Agualimpia, Backus' Marketing Vice-president, announced: "It is with great pride that Cristal beer recognises the commitment and dedication of the players in this America Cup. It is a promising first step towards the final goal which is the qualification for Brazil 2014. To achieve this, everybody (fans, players and Cristal) will continue supporting Sergio in the upcoming months in the arduous road in front of us."

"This way, Cristal's commitment is reassured once again, the number-one fan of the Peruvian National Football Team".

Cristal's offered to donate US $10,000 for every goal scored, deducting US $5,000 for every goal received. This calculation, however, would not to take into account lost matches.

As a result of the determination of the National Team, US $70,000 were collected.
