Responsibly at the Woodstock Stop (Translation)
9 July 2010
"Don't buy alcohol for minors. Let them enjoy the music. Live responsibly." This motto will appear on materials prepared by Kompania Piwowarska promoting responsible alcohol consumption during this years' Woodstock Stop.
"While promoting responsible alcohol consumption, we can't forget about the largest rock festival - Woodstock Stop" - says Kompania Piwowarska spokesman Paweł Kwiatkowski. "This year, for the first time, there will be a special station for downloading the application which allows checking per mille on mobile phones." he added.
Alcohol is not for minors
Kompania also offers training for vendors selling alcohol during the festival and prepares educational materials addressing the problem of alcohol consumption by minors. Those initiatives have been very successful.
"It's very commonplace to approach the Woodstock roll-bar to buy beer with an ID in your hand" said festival frequenters.
During the training conducted by experienced instructors, salespeople learn tricks frequently utilised by minors who try to buy beer, and are shown many useful techniques on how to refuse those minors.
"It's important for us that teens enjoy each other's company, enjoy the music and have fun, but beer must only be available to people of age. We don't want minors to drink, nor do we want adults to purchase beer for them. At the same time, we don't want young people to be exposed to the negative effects of irresponsible alcohol consumption," explained Paweł Kwiatkowski.
Something for drivers
Kompania Piwowarska also remembers to educate drivers coming to Woodstock Stop. With them in mind, we have prepared stickers with mottos: "Don't drink and drive. Get home safely. Put your per mille to the test." Also, people attending the festival will be able to download, free of charge, the application "Put your per mille to the test," which will allow them to use their mobile phones as handy breathalysers. More information about the application can be found at www.sprawdzpromile.pl. There are also other educational initiatives for drivers. Every limited edition Lech beer can, prepared especially for Woodstock, reads: "I never drink and drive," which fulfils obligations we established with some of the largest breweries in Poland.
