KP will be representing Poland during the European Business Awards (Translation)

4 May 2010

European Business Awards authorities, sponsored by HSBC, announced that Kompania Piwowarska will be representing Poland in the prestigious 2010 edition of the contest. KP has an opportunity to compete with the world's best companies for the European Ruban d'Honneur award.

This is the fourth time the European Business Awards contest has shown appreciation to Europe's best companies for achievements in European business. The jury was searching for companies representing Poland which showed innovation, business perfection and good practices. Kompania Piwowarska has been chosen as one of the 15 country representatives and will be competing for the Ruban d'Honneur award in the next round. Winners in each category will be announced on November 16, in Paris.

"Participation in the European Business Awards gives us a chance to be compared with the best companies in Europe. Because of the quality the participants represent and the discipline of the evaluation process, the recipients of the Ruban d'Honneur award or the winners of the European Business Award are perceived to be the most amazing companies of the Old Continent," said Public Affairs Manager Katarzyna Wilczewska. "It is an honour for us to represent Poland in this year's contest final."

The European Business Awards contest aims to bring attention to companies that combine innovation with sales but at the same time operate responsibly, and have a positive influence on their communities.

"At Kompania Piwowarska, responsible business is a key to ensuring sustainable development for the company itself as well as for its business and social partners. Responsible business is a cohesive management concept embraced by all employees. In making business decisions, they follow ethical and environmental guidelines with the assumption that resources are scarce and need to be best utilized," said Małgorzata Walędzińska, CSR Manager at Kompania Piwowarska SA.

In 2009, the combined sales of 99 recipients of the Ruban d'Honneur award exceeded 570 billion euro; and their average annual increase in profit reached 56%.

Adrian Tripp, the CEO of the European Business Awards, said: "In the past four years we have witnessed exceptionally high quality entries from companies that are passionate about their business. However, few are given the opportunity to represent their country and compete against Europe's best companies to be considered one of the continent's leaders. It is a great honour to be chosen as the country representative. Together with HSBC we are thrilled to see Poland in the next round".
