CR Snow started in Shenyang, capital of Liaoning province in Northeast China, with two main breweries, Shenyang and Dalian.


The group acquired 6 more breweries, i.e. Jilin, Tianjin, Anshan, two breweries in Anhui, and Mianyang, and expanded into provinces out of the northeast.

In the year of 2000, CR Snow adopted the strategy of developing into coastal areas and along the Yangtze River, and achieved 10.3mn hl of sales volume and over 4% of national market share.


CR Snow did a number of very influential acquisitions across China and followed the strategy to move into the more affluent regions, including Blue Sword in Sichuan, Dongxihu in Hubei Wuhan, Longjin in Anhui, Qianjiang in Zhejiang and breweries of Lion Nathan in Jiangsu.

By end of 2006, CR Snow had more than 40 breweries with over 50mn hl of sales volume and approximately 15% of national market share, becoming the biggest beer company in China by volume for the first time.


The group continued to further improve its national footprint by acquisitions and greenfields´╝îdeveloping into more regions, such as Inner-Mongolia, Guizhou, Henan and Shanghai.

By end of 2012, CR Snow had more than 80 breweries with over 100mn hl of sales volume and approximately 22% of national market share.


CR Snow has entered an agreement with Kingway Brewery Holdings Limited this year to acquire its brewery business for a total cash consideration of RMB 5.38bn (c.US$864m).
