South African
Breweries plc ("SAB plc") was recently incorporated in the United
Kingdom and listed on the London Stock Exchange in March 1999
when it became the successor parent company of The South African
Breweries Limited ("SAB Limited") group.
The consolidated financial statements are presented as if SAB plc
had been the Group's parent company throughout the year. The basis
is consistent with SAB plc's listing particulars published on 1
March 1999 and reflects the operations and results of the Group
for the year ended 31 March 1999.
